It's been months!

WOW! Has it really been that long since I updated this madness? I guess so!

So what's been going on in the wacky world of Dawn? Where shall I start?

I'm very proud to say that I am pregnant, almost five months along with our first child. It's been odd but so very lovely. I really seem to enjoy being pregnant. I had a bit of sickness the first few months but nothing dramatic. I started showing pretty early, and now feel huge! The husband assures me that I'm still "tiny" but I think he's just afraid of the crazy, hormonal pregnant woman! ha ha ha Ok so, I MIGHT be a little bit more emotional than normal at times...

Lee left Friday to go to a weapons intelligence school down in Arizona for seven weeks. It was harder than normal to let him go because I'd been sick and in and out of the hospital the week before. Mother and child are both fine, but I had been in a great deal of pain and was still feeling weak and puny when he got orders to go, so I was not very happy to let him go! By Friday though I was feeling much better and I'm doing just fine.

What else is going on with me? Not a whole lot. Work is going good, I got a bit of a promotion/raise a couple months ago and am making more money and feeling more appreciated, which is always gratifying. It's still stressful and at times I want to just blow up the building, but I think that's more of those hormones peeking up again! ^_^

I've had a chance to read quite a bit the past few months so hopefully I can get up some reviews soon. Until then, by my darlings! Have a good week!

13 Beloved Characters

Thirteen Things about Dawn
>

Thirteen Characters I Absolutely Love

1. Pippen, from the Lord of the Rings. He was such a fun, sweet and mischievous little thing! Poor guy really stepped up to the plate though (despite being a bit of a screw up) when he needed to, and a more loyal friend you couldn't ask for.

2. Harry "Demon" Cynster. from Stephanie Laurens' Cynster series. His book was A Rogue's Proposal. I loved all the Cynster men, but Demon held a special place in my heart. I'm a sucker for a reformed rake!!!

3. Kisten Felps, from Kim Harrison's series, The Hollows. For a big bad scary (and hot as hell) vampire, the man was pretty darn submissive. The contrast was just right and I fell in love. He was my second favorite character in the books.

4. Jenks, is the first from The Hollows! The little pixy is a main character, but not the main character. Honestly, Jenks and Kisten were my favorites out of everything in those books. I couldn't stand the main character (Rachel) that the books were about! Jenks' funny sense of humor and million kids flying around the place never failed to make me laugh.

5. Zadist from J. R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood was the classic bad boy turned good. He's the tortured hero, and while his female tamed him, he didn't lose his edge one bit. He's still as badass and unpredictable as ever, and I don't think any of us would change that!!

6. Eve Dallas is J. D. Robb's kickass homicide cop in her futuristic In Death series. Eve is the ultimate super cop. She's so dedicated and trustworthy, you can't help but to root for her. She's smart, resilient, and tough as nails. She'd much rather face a room full of murderers than get dressed up for a high scale party too.

7. Why would she be going to a high scale party? Number 7, Roarke. Yep, he's so cool he doesn't have a last name. Normally this would bug me, but he really is just that cool. He grew up in the streets of Dublin and worked his way, in legal and not quite so legal ways, up to the top. He's a billionaire (or maybe more) that fell in love with a fashion challenged cop. And he has a cool accent. You see why I'm in love??

8. Phèdre nó Delaunay is Jacqueline Carey's main character the Kushiel's Lagacy series. She's an anguissette, pricked by Kushiel's Dart, who works as a Servant of Naamah in the City of Elua. This means she takes great pleasure in pain. Elua is their god of love, and being in service to him means serving others sexually. (It's a bit hard to explain-READ THE BOOKS!) Anyways, as a child, her service was bought by a gentleman who taught her how to be a spy. She goes on to help save the country from invasion by the Skaldi and become the queen's confidant. She is brave, yet vulnerable, and has a quick wit and heart of gold. You really should read these if you haven't!!!

9. This queen, would be Ysandre de la Courcel, Queen of Terre d'Ange. At first, she seems like a huge mistake. She's young, untried, and her grandfather (the idiot) had kept her out of his way for years. When he dies, there are plans aplenty to get her off the throne. Ysandre proves herself time and again, however, and holds onto it with all she's got. She's bold, brave, fair and beautiful. What more could you want in a heroine?

10. Cat Crawfield, the Red Reaper of Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series. She's half vampire, meaning she is alive, but she has the instincts and skills (to a certain degree) of a vampire. Her mother had been raped and traumatized by her vampire father and had brought Cat up believing vampires were all evil and deserved to be killed. In the first book Cat went around killing all the vamps she could find, until a master vampire, Bones, caught her. He trained her to be a better killer, and in the process, taught her that not all vampires were all bad. She ends up getting recruited (unwillingly might I add) by the government to lead a team that polices the underworld.

*~ *~ *~ *~ *~*~* I think I'm making theese longer as I go O.o *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

11. Princess Moira from Nora Roberts Circle Trilogy. She's small, a bookworm and a bit quiet. She's also from another land and has traveled here to fight the vampires. Did I mention that she overcomes some pretty big obstacles to fall for a vampire? I love this woman. She's one of my favorite characters from all of Nora Robert's books.

12. Bones, another Night Huntress character. He comes across a woman killing a vamp he was chasing, picks her up in a bar the next night, knocks her out and kidnaps her, then when she's not the bad guy (girl) he thought she was, he tells her she has to be his partner or he'll kill her. The guy really does have balls of steel. He's the big bad sexy who just happens to be...kinda the good guy, actually. Did I mention he's English? I really am a sucker for an accent.

13. I'm leaving this one blank. I want you to tell me your favorite character. Give me a character I don't have listed up here, one that'll just make me go gaga!!! Come on, pretty please?

92 Hours

A stryker unit can be up a ready to deploy in 92 hours. You may be asking yourself, "Why do I care? Why do you care?" Easy answer, my husband is a soldier in the US army. A mortar man in a stryker unit. In 92 hours, my husband can be called up and shipped out-it's a disturbing thought.

The situation in the Middle East today has me bothered. Iraq? No. Georgia. Russia. South Ossetia.

What is going on over there? I hate to speculate, but from this side of the ocean, looks like Russia has stuck their noses (and guns) into Georgia's version of a civil war. Today it seems that the war has ended...yet we are still hearing that Russia is bombing Georgia. In a world that is as unsettled and violent as we are living in, a full scale war is the last thing we need. Why? Well I for one don't look forward to having my husband at war with Russia. America hasn't been in a traditional war in quite a while, and I'd like to keep it that way.

So the basic gist? I want peace. Please, just get the hell out, Russia, and don't cause WW3. That's just really going to piss me off.

The Earl of Bloody Perfection

This was my second attempt at something original, thanks to the second picture prompt :)

2

Adrianna stripped down to her chemise, and hung her dress over a nearby branch. She slipped into the water and let out a contented sigh; this was exactly what she had needed. Time to just be alone and relax, to be herself again. She certainly didn't feel much like herself when she was around their visitor. No, every time she was around the Earl of Hollingsworth she seemed to forget how to speak. It was horribly embarrassing, but then again, so was walking into things, and she'd done quite a bit of that lately as well. Thank God he didn't seem to notice much! It was beginning to go past embarrassing to just plain annoying.

She was normally a very smart person, and she'd never had any problems talking. If anything, she talked too much, according to her mother. So why was she suddenly struck with this awkwardness? A man. A big, handsome, strong, rich man. It was really all his fault, who could blame her? The man was too perfect, and if she could only find the flaw, she was sure she could get her head back together and act like a normal person around him. She was known for her beauty and wit and brains, all she had to do was embrace that side of herself again. She would not keep acting like a lovestruck idiot every time the blasted man came around.

A sound made her look to the shore, where who else but the Earl of Bloody Perfection stood there staring at her. When she saw him she tried to stand up, slipped and went under. Suddenly he was in the water dragging her up.

"Are you alright, my lady?" he asked worriedly as he held her close.

"Wha-What are you doing here?!" she sputtered, horrified that he had once again witnessed her embarrassment.

He sighed and ran a hand through his wet hair. "You have avoided me all bloody week! I can't get within twenty feet of you in the castle, so I followed you out here."

"And what is it you so desperately wish to speak of?" She was painfully aware of the wet chemise clinging to her skin and his hard body pressing against hers.

He lifted her face till she met his eyes and saw the hunger there. "I find that I'm no longer in the mood to talk," he murmured before his lips found hers.

The kiss was gentle and a bit coaxing. After a moment, she felt his tongue lightly brush her lips. She gasped, and he took the opportunity to deepen the kiss. At the same time she felt his hand slide up caress her breast. She couldn't breathe! When she pulled her mouth away he slid his mouth down to her neck and across her collarbone. He picked her up, walked to the bank and laid her down. He ran his hands down the front of her body and cupped her mound as his mouth found her nipple...

Batshit Crazy

Sometimes I find that I get so busy with the complications, frustrations and generally hooplah of day to day life, that I forget to stop and smell the roses. Work runs late, dinner burns, some jackass cuts you off on the interstate. If you're like me, you occasionally let these things build up, and you find yourself in a real pisser of a mood.

And then you start your period.

Yes, ma'am. You know exactly what I'm talking about don't you?? You think life has picked up the trashcan and dumped it over your head, when really, some Midol and a chocolate bar would make it all better.

I've come to the conclusion that we females turn batshit crazy once a month and don't even know it. You're sitting here thinking, "Well yeh, but why'd you have to make a whole blog post about it?" Truth?

I'm feeling a bit batshit crazy myself.

A spider ran over my foot Tuesday and Lee didn't hear me calling for him. What'd I do? I cried. Bawled, really. Then beat the hell out of Lee while he laughed himself silly over the whole thing.

Wednesday I spent all afternoon cooking, just to get to the very last thing and run out of flour. What'd I do? I threw it away.. Literally. Got disgusted and just flung the (mostly) empty bag of flour across the kitchen and called Lee to tell him to stop and get me some on the way home. He took one look at the flour on the stove and bag on the floor, and sat his little grocery bag down and ran.

Thursday I spent 2 hours reorganizing my Mary Kay.

Friday I yelled at Lee for actually taking me out to a party like I've been asking him too.

You're thinking, "What a bitch!" And I'd have to agree. Luckily Lee knew I was stressed out and PMS-ie and laughed at most of it. If I was him, I'd have smacked me a couple good ones. I guess I just wanted to say that I've been a bitch all week and I thank God my husband is so understanding. He is rather amazing sometimes, and I'm feeling pretty darn lucky right now.

So thats it. Thanks for reading my rambling, and Lee, I love you hun :)
